Our Sandia Select Chile has a superior flavor, a uniform heat level, and a thicker fruit wall. The dark green pods make it perfect for chopped green chile as well as for stuffing or frying. It is 6 to 7" in length and is the natural New Mexican chile to choose for what we consider a consistent hot heat level. This hot one is a favorite for use in a variety of traditional New Mexican recipes. With a heat level of around 9,000 Scovilles, you have to be pretty cool to try this hot one. Perfect for Salsa, Guacamole, Green Chile Stew and any dish that requires a little kick. This green chile has been "rehabilitated" to the original variety which was released in 1956 by New Mexico State University, the home of the New Mexico Chile Pepper. Grown in the Mesilla Valley of Southern New Mexico from certified seed. Available in 2 lb., 5 lb., 10 lb. or 20 lb. quantities. Shipped roasted, vacuum packed and frozen in 1 lb. or 2.5 lb. packages (except for 2 lb. orders). Now shipping.
